POLO HORSES
A beautiful 656 acre property, Whitehall Ranch is a first-class facility for breeding and training polo horses, raising cattle and producing hay. It has large open pastures, stables with oversized stalls, turn out paddocks, and a multitude of wildlife.
OPERATIONS
POLO HORSES
The owner and staff of Whitehall Ranch have studied the polo horse market in Houston, and elsewhere, and have built contacts in the equestrian trade throughout Texas, the United States, and even the world. Our expert staff has an excellent comprehensive care and training program. This program has developed our horses into very high quality, athletic and well cared for polo horses.
Whitehall Ranch breeds polo horses that have retired from play. Currently, there are two foals that were born in the Spring of 2020. Over the next few years, these foals will be raised and trained by our expert staff. They will grow and develop into first-class polo horses.
CATTLE
Whitehall Ranch has Brangus cattle which were developed for the superior traits of the Brahman and Angus cattle. The operation breeds and raises cattle for the sale of steers for beef production and maintains high quality replacement heifers. The herd is culled semi-annually to maintain the high standards of the cattle and maximum breeding potential.
HAY
The Whitehall Ranch grows healthy grass and related sustainable forage available for its livestock production, and free roaming wildlife, while practicing ecological health. Some pastures are used to feed our cattle during the summer season. Other pastures are used for the winter season where the cattle are fed our ranch produced hay. Excess hay is available for sale locally, semi-annually.
WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT
The primary purpose of the ranch is the care and feeding of the wildlife that freely roam throughout the ranch from time to time. Food plots are actively planted and maintained during the year to encourage the wildlife population growth on the ranch. Supplemental feed is provided by the ranch for certain of these animals on a ‘free choice’ basis throughout the year. The natural wildlife habitat of the ranch encourages native species to thrive. The philosophy of the ranch is also to remove any predators and other invasive species that discourage the healthy living environment of the ranch.
